Pastel Paintings

It’s very hard to describe the process of transforming myself from a teacher to an artist, though the process of creating has always been my interest.

I observed deep creativity in my own family; the way my dad really lost his self down in his workroom creating.  While in his workroom he was always incredibly capable and creative.  These are lessons he learned without any formal education; enter a creative space and you are pretty easily transformed.

The result for me has meant many years of pursuing artistic craft.  I’ve loved each and every craft and recognize that these creative periods have provided me with heightened stamina and a general feeling of great happiness.

Pastels seems to encompass so much of what I am interested in.  I am able to represent color, shape, and design as I please.  I paint scenes and items that are beautiful to me, in the hopes that you can see that beauty.  The playfulness of painting is where I want to concentrate my efforts.  My process is ever-changing, so stay tuned to see where it all leads!
